Two scholarships to juniors or seniors who are enrolled in the Departments of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agricultural and Consumer Economics, Crops Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, or Technical Systems Management in the College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  The recipients shall have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Preference shall be given to students from an agricultural background with a strong interest in a farm related career. Applicants will be required to submit an essay describing their background in agriculture and their future plans for a farm related career and to provide at least one (1) farmer reference.

The Department of Crop Sciences in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) at the University of Illinois is pleased to work in partnership with the Illinois Soybean Association to offer scholarships to students pursuing a degree Crop Sciences. One or more scholarships of varying amounts given annually to College of ACES students from Shelby County. Preference given to students from Ash Grove, Windsor, Okaw and Todds Point Townships within Shelby County. One or more scholarships of varying amounts given annually to College of ACES students. One or more scholarships of varying amounts given annually to College of ACES students. Preference to students from Tazewell County. One or more awards available each year to College of ACES students from MontgomeryCounty from the estate of Rexford Weller, a lifetime resident and farmer within that county.

One or more scholarships available each year to College of ACES undergraduate students from the greater PikeCounty area. Priority given also to other students in the College who do not have access to other scholarship programs because of extenuating circumstances in their life that have caused undue hardship in their overall performance.

One or more scholarships made available through the estate of Mr. Lawitz for College of ACES students with financial need.

Three $1,000 scholarships awarded to sophomore, junior or senior level students who are pursuing a career in production agriculture or agribusiness. Students must also demonstrate an interest in agricultural cooperative business through educational, classroom or internship experiences. One $500 scholarship provided yearly with preference given to College of ACES students from McDonough, Hancock, or Henderson Counties. Funds provided by Kenneth T. and Betty L. Wright in honor of his parents both of whom graduated from the College of Agriculture in 1938.
